Home refers to the quaint cottage in which the protagonist and her mother resides, along with their maid Bessy. It is the main location where she interacts with these characters. It is also visited by many of the protagonist's friends, including Mary, Phoebe, Ellie, Mr & Mrs Worthington and Lord Fat Cat.
All suitors will also call upon the protagonist at some point in their courtship. Mr Curtis and Mr Graham in particular pay many visits to the protagonist. Mr Ashcroft meets the protagonist outside the cottage to make reconciliation after a conflict. Mr Digby will always visit the protagonist if she faces the prospect of becoming an old maid.
