The gentleman is an acquaintance of the protagonist who appears to reside in Darlington. The protagonist first meets him in town, and a second time at the annual Earlwood Spring Ball in Dunnistone Manor, where most of the residents of Darlington are invited.
Whilst the gentleman plays no significant role in the the protagonist's life, his character art is considerably more detailed than other minor characters. This suggests that he may be more important in a future update of the game. A similar situation may also exist with the character of Miss Woods.
